A Trip Down to Olinda Falls

By Eve

On Saturday afternoon I went on a long bush walk to Olinda falls. It was beautifuly quiet as I got out of the car and walked down to the creek. The only thing I could hear were the birds and the trees. I was snacking on the berries of a prickly currant bush. I got to the upper falls and had a dip in the ice cold water. The serenity was peaceful as blue dragonflys darted past my legs and golden whistlers sang from the tree tops. The rocks were slippery in the water.

As we were walking up a yellow bellied wren caught my eye. I stood still hoping it would come up to me as they are renound for their curiosty. And it did! The yellow bellied wren came centimetres away from my feet, chirped and found a branch to analyse me from.
